Alongside its updated 1:8” twist rate and lighter barrel profile, the Sport III Upper features 5R rifling, an asymmetrical pattern utilizing opposing lands and grooves, ensuring consistent projectile contact as it travels down the barrel yielding improved stabilization, better gas seal slightly increasing muzzle velocity, and extended barrel life thanks to its rounded lands.
